Today I managed to lock myself out of the apartment (stupid automatic locking doors). Luckily after 1.5 hours of waiting outside my door Kent came home and let me in. I hate being locked out. This is not the first time it’s happened…once I locked myself out on the way to a gig (without my car keys) and everybody was wondering why I didn’t show up. I’m going to duck tape my keys to my body to avoid these mishaps in the future.

Tracked a little cover song today. Maybe it’ll be a valentines day gift for you tomorrow…we’ll see how I feel.

We’re Done Filming!

Hurray!

Yesterday we finished the filming portion of the Paper Heart Video. This has defiantly been one of the more technically challenging videos we have done…and it’s kind of scary because we shot the whole thing on Super 8 film. So we have done all this work and I haven’t seen a frame of film….so I’m hoping that everything will come out good. Thanks to my friend Daniel for helping us get some shots in Stockholm. There’s nothing better than to getting to work with your best friends. I have a feeling this might be my favourite video we’ve done to date. It should be done in about 3 weeks! Stay tuned. Here’s some pics…

Adventures in the Darkness

Today Kent and I started shooting a video for Paper Heart. The video takes place outside…the only problem is that we’re in northern Sweden and it’s -22 Degrees outside! Yowser… We’re shooting this on a vintage super 8 camera and I’m surprised that it can even handle these extreme temperatures. This is a pic of the camera after we came in from the cold.

It’s a champ! The Japanese sure know how to make a camera. We’ve mostly been shooting nature stuff today. Here’s a sample of what it looks like around here.

Pretty, ehhh? Another obstacle we have to work around is the sun light. It’s only light outside for 4 hours a day…so you really have to make your time count…and take advantage of the little time it isn’t snowing. I have a feeling that the video is going to come out awesome and it makes it more special to us since it’s shot in our little corner of the world.

Merry Indie X-Mas

It’s that time of year when we bundle up, eats lots of holiday treats and reflect on the past year. Kent and I have been really busy in the studio this year and we’re excited about 2011. We are going to have not one, but TWO releases. The first will be February 8^th with a five song EP called “Love in October II”. I have to keep the second secret for now, but it will be out sooner rather than later.

We are currently in Sweden shooting a music video for Paper Heart. We’re doing it a little different than what we’ve done in the past and trying a different approach. It could turn out awesome or be a huge failure…we are gambling men at heart. The video will be out in February as well. Happy Happy fun time!

CHICAGO: Don’t forget we have a show coming up at Double Door on Friday the 14^th. Mark your calendars.

And finally we were lucky to meet up with our childhood friend Tobias, who played drums in our first high school band “Ambush”, to cover the song Walls by Shout Out Louds live from our living room (the room that started it all). You can watch the magic HERE.

NEW EP: Love in October II

Mark your calendars, a new Love in October EP will be out February 8th. Keeping up with the times, the album will only be released digitally. However, a limited edition physical copy (Only 50 will be made) with an individualized hand made album cover will be made available. Preorders will be available in January 8th.
